WINTER ART CAMP with Ms. SONA

The Art day camp will offer children the opportunity to engage fully in a day filled with enjoyable visual art-related activities. Students will immerse themselves in the studio experience, free from distractions, allowing them to explore the magic of creation without interruptions or time constraints, enabling them to embrace their inner artists.

Activities will include crafting papier-mache sculptures, mastering the art of origami, experimenting with pallet painting using heavy body acrylic paint, drawing, scratch art, collage, wax resist painting with watercolors and a wide array of creative pursuits. Additionally, art history will be seamlessly integrated into each lesson, infusing educational value into the fun and enriching experience.

Sona Yeghiazaryan
A native of Armavir, Armenia, Sona was born to artist parents Melsik Yeghiazaryan and Karine Arshakyan. Her formal art education started in Hakob Kojoyan Arts High School (Yerevan, Armenia) and later in the Academy of Fine Arts (Yerevan, Armenia).
In the USA since 2003, she received her B.A. in Art Education from Montclair State University, NJ, and her M.A. in Art Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. She is an associate member of Noyes Art Museum (Atlantic City, NJ). Her work was published in prestigious art magazines such as Art in America, The Artist's Magazine, Hemisphere of United Airlines, and Avenue. She taught painting and printmaking at Abraham Lincoln HS. Currently, she teaches Painting and Digital Photography at West Essex Regional HS in North Caldwell, NJ. Live In NJ with her husband and three sons, ages 4-7.
