Q & A
“Speaking in front of an audience doesn’t come naturally to many people. Vineeta is a wonderful teacher and her public speaking class turned my son into a polished confident speaker. She is very dedicated and to quote my son “makes any topic interesting”. He learned how to engage an audience, how to project his voice, how to keep the content interesting, how to think on his feet and respond to questions, how to pay attention to his body language etc. He acquired all these in a few weeks of taking her classes. Your kids can’t go wrong with Vineeta! Sit back, relax and enjoy the transformation!”
Instructor
Vineeta Khanna is a Founder of Orator Academy. As a public figure, she experienced firsthand the importance and impact of effective public speaking. This realization inspired her to begin offering public speaking lessons over 12 years ago.
Since then, she has helped hundreds of students and professionals—from elementary school students to corporate executives—develop confidence and authenticity as speakers. With more than 15 years of experience hosting a popular South Asian radio show, along with guest appearances on NPR in New York and Philadelphia, Vineeta is a highly respected communicator.
She also made history as the first South Asian elected to public office in Livingston Township, where she served as President of the Board of Education and Vice Chair of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
1. Does the course cover how to structure one’s thoughts, such as the sequence of points and the main idea, or does it focus on speech delivery?
Absolutely. We address both what to say and how to say it. Students will learn how to organize their thoughts and content, including how to create an effective “hook,” develop their ideas, and create a strong conclusion. An important emphasis of the course is out-of-the-box thinking.
2. Is the course about social interaction with peers, or is it primarily about speaking in front of a large group?
The goal is to help students become the best communicators they can be - to develop their authentic personalities and express themselves with conviction and confidence.
Students will learn skills that can help them communicate effectively in many situations, from speaking in front of a larger audience to one-on-one communication.
3. Are we committed to signing up for the whole year?
No. Do-Re-Mi policies are the same: tuition is charged monthly, and you may withdraw with 30 days’ advance notice.
4. Can we have a trial lesson?
Yes. The trial lesson will be paid, as the free trial we offered earlier is no longer available.
Please reserve your spot now for October 1 at 5:30 PM, as seating is limited:
If this time does not work for you and you would prefer a later time, please let me know. We may consider opening another time slot depending on demand.
5. Can my child join a few weeks after the course begins?
Students may join during the first four classes, subject to availability.
If a student wishes to join after October 22, a couple of private introductory lessons will be required to help the student get up to speed and join the group smoothly without interrupting the flow of the program.
6. What is the instructor’s college major?
Vineeta holds a B.A. in English Literature.
