Sona Yeghiazaryan


A native of Armavir, Armenia, Sona was born to artist parents Melsik Yeghiazaryan and Karine Arshakyan. Her formal art education started in Hakob Kojoyan Arts High School (Yerevan, Armenia) and later in the Academy of Fine Arts (Yerevan, Armenia). In the USA since 2003, she received her B.A. in Art Education from Montclair State University, NJ in 2009 and is currently a third year graduate student at the Teachers College at Columbia University. She is an associate member of Noyes Art Museum (Atlantic City, NJ).

Sona's works were published in prestigious art magazines such as Art in America, The Artist's Magazine, Hemisphere of United Airlines, and Avenue. She's been an art teacher at Lincoln High School (Jersey City, NJ) since 2013. Her vision is to impact urban education through the power of art and its ability to transform and reconstruct reality into its best existence.
