Scholarship Essay Contest for One Year of Free Music, Dance or Art Classes
To celebrate our 10th Anniversary and to support music and art in local communities, the Do-Re-Mi School of Music and the Arts in Livingston is offering three full year scholarships available to New Jersey students. The Do-Re-Mi School is asking students to write a short essay of 500 words or less to express what music, dance or art means to them and why they want to take lessons. The value of scholarship is up to $1400 for music and $900 for dance and art. Three winners will be chosen from the submitted essays, one for a year of free music lessons (½ hour weekly private lessons or any group music class for the year) and one for a year of dance and one for art classes (1 hour per week for the year.) This contest is open to all New Jersey students of 6-16 years whether or not they currently take lessons at our school. Deadline for entry is April 15, 2012. Essays can either be submitted electronically at scholarshipessay@doremi-nj.com or left at the school at 93A South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039.
