Family Music for Toddlers (16 months to 3 years)

Thursday 6:00-6:30
Trial class: April 4 (registration required)
Spring semester: April 11-June 13, 10 classes, $165 including materials 

These weekly classes are action-filled for toddlers - full of energy, often on the move, always exploring and learning - and their parents. Together you’ll sing, chant, move, dance, listen, and play simple instruments, all activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement through four wonder-filled semesters.
Each lesson features movement activities for coordination, body awareness and control, exploration of space, and instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingles, rattles, drums, and resonator bars.
Additionally, you'll receive a wonderful CD, a parent activity book, and an instrument or scarf to use at home for more fun time together.

Cycle of the Seasons for Preschoolers (3-5 yrs.)

Tuesday 12:15-1:00
Trial class: April 2 (Registration required)
Spring semester: April 9-June 11, 11 classes, $240 including materials 

Celebrate your preschooler's growing independence and love of the outdoors with activities involving the four seasons in The Cycle of Seasons.. Developed to build attention and self-expression, activities include singing, chanting, moving, focused listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. TheCycle of Seasons nurtures your growing child’s ability to use language and participate in dramatic play within a musical context.

Fun family packets including wonderful music CDs are included for use at home to increase family involvement in the learning process.

МУЗЫКА для МАЛЫШЕЙ

Самых маленьких, еще до того, как они начинают говорить (от полутора лет) мы приглашаем на уроки музыки на русском языке. Уроки эти ставят своей целью создание развивающей музыкальной среды для детей, подобно известным программам Kindermusik, Musikgarten и Music Together, но все уроки проходят на языке, родном для малышей. В программу, рассчитанную на 4 года, включены разнообразные песни, как авторские – Никитиных, Шаинского и других композиторов, так и детские песни народов мира. В программе использовано множество стихов, часто положенных на музыку. Это и знакомые бабушкам и прабабушкам наших учеников стихотворения Агнии Барто, Самуила Маршака и Валентина Берестова, и более поздние авторы: Эмма Мошковская, Ирина Токмакова, Генрих Сапгир, Вадим Левин, а также поэты, писавшие давно, но опубликованные уже при перестройке, такие как Даниил Хармс и Саша Черный.

Школа До-Ре-Ми начала свое существование с музыки для малышей на русском языке в январе 2001 года, когда в доме у учительницы собралась группа из 5 детей. Дети выросли, и школа тоже. С этой программы начинают свои занятия всё новые и новые малыши. Некоторые семьи присылают к нам своего третьего и четвертого ребенка! Такой популярности русская музыкальная программа обязана не только своему качеству, но и своей "бифункциональности": развивая музыкальные способности малыша, классы на русском языке помогают ему и в становлении родной речи. Не зря все логопеды советуют родителям добавить к логопедическим занятиям еще и музыкальные.

SPIRAL

SPIRAL ( Start Piano Instruction: Readiness Assessment Lessons) is a unique sequential piano readiness program offered at the Do-Re-Mi School to children whose parents consider piano lessons. The SPIRAL system is NOT intended to "diagnose" abilities, make any prognosis about a future success, nor give recommendations whether or not to pursue piano instruction, but to develop each child's abilities and teach him certain skills vital for a sustained, successful piano endeavor. Lessons can be given in a small group, semi-private or private setting.

During the course, a child's readiness will be reassessed, and recommendations for transition into traditional piano lessons will be made. Please see sample videos below.

Tutition

Private and Partner SPIRAL Monthly Tuition includes weekly lessons according to the calendar and one monthly group lesson each month.
